This post describes a custom-built Shortcut for the Apple iOS that can be triggered by Siri or home screen. The shortcut then completes a series of steps in which the end result is a text to someone with a video that was recorded, while also uploading it to iCloud or Dropbox. This is useful for things like being pulled over. When you trigger the shortcut, it will send your current location, battery level, day, and time to the person you choose. This helps you by giving someone your location in the event of an emergency situation.

What does the Shortcut do?

Pulled over by police:

  1. Get Current Location
  2. Turn on Low Power Mode
  3. Get battery level
  4. Turn on Do Not Disturb
  5. Send Text Message
  6. Set Brightness
  7. Start Recording Video
  8. Send Video via Messages
  9. Upload video to Dropbox
